i did this as part of a gift for his retirement. I learned so much from him and am indebted to him! I will put up a link to his site whenever he gets it running ! took about 20-30 mins..

- "There's nothing better than discovering, to your own astonishment, what you're meant to do. It's like falling in love." - Mike Nichols – I am now 5 years into my classically-oriented art education. I have three years at the Academy of Art in San Francisco - having studied there with Ruben Deanda, Henry Yan, Zhaoming Wu and Tomutsu Takeshima and Tae Park among such great teachers. I have studied the GCA in NYC and with Rob Liberace, Michael Grimaldi, Hope Railey as well as master Glen Orbik down at CAI.. I spent a rewarding year with Anthony Ryder in NM - 2009-10. The fall of 2010 took me to the Guild Atelier in beautiful and wacky Brooklyn - studying w/ Camie Davis. I work hard and want to be as great a painter and draftsman as I can be. Drawing and painting people is probably my favorite thing to do.. I grew up in Washington, DC and spent 15 working in Seattle for Microsoft I am now an Instructor at the Academy of Art. The energy is great and I hope my students see how much their success matters to me. They probably have no idea ( unless they hunt this down and read it!).

That's him! Thank you so much for posting this. I am actually searching for a way to contact Ruben. I was one of his students 22 years ago in San Diego and wanted to tell him what an impact he had on my development as an illustrator.
It looks like he is teaching at Academy of Art University?
I am saddened to inform that Ruben has passed away, after a long fight with cancer. Please pray for his wife, son Israel, and his 3 grandchildren he left behind. We will miss him so much. - His long time neighbor and friend.
Mavi, thank you for the note, Ruben's wife shared this news with me via a note 3 days after his passing. I was blessed to have him as a wonderful teacher and good friend.

Wow. I am so sorry to hear about Ruben. Kevin - It is because of you that I was able to contact him after so many years and tell him just how much he meant to me as a teacher. Although I did not get to see him again, I am so thankful I got back in touch with him. Thank you so much. My thoughts goes out to his family.
